The City of Greensboro invites and welcomes proposals from qualified companies for this time-sensitive project that must be completed by June 30, 2025. Please take the time to read and carefully become familiar with the proposal requirements. 2. All references in this document to “approval” shall mean approval by the Network Services Manager or their designate. 3. The City of Greensboro's ‘master wiring plan’ for data and voice communication specifies Category 6 for horizontal Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) applications. 4. This specification may sometimes include Category 5e & 6A UTP when conditions call for it and when the Network Services Manager specifically approves that usage. 5. The scope of work varies from the intra-building installation of Category-6/6a station outlets to the installation of backbone cable to the construction of wiring Communication Rooms. This work will include installing intra- or inter-building backbone twisted pair cable and fiber optic cable, backboards and wire management, racks, power, and lighting. 6. The Contractor shall obtain approval in advance from the OVG Project Manager before starting any and all work. Unauthorized changes (e.g., cutting, modifying, etc.) to cabling can cause communications network failures campus-wide and will not be tolerated. 7. The Contractor shall be responsible for any damage caused by their workmen to the owners' property. He shall make good in an approved manner at his own expense any such loss, damage, or injury without cost to the owner. 8. The Contractor shall also assume all responsibility for maintaining all existing protection as required by the governing laws, regulations, ordinances, and safety of personnel and visitors. If the Contractor fails to make satisfactory repairs, the Owner will repair any damage by the Contractor or his workers and deduct the cost from the contract. 9. The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, insurance, and permits and abide by all applicable Local, State, and Federal codes to complete the scope of work as outlined in the plans and specifications provided by the Owner. 10. Submittals: At the completion of the project, the city will receive all materials, MSDS, product data, copies of the Manufacturer’s specifications, installation instructions, and warranties.
