The NC Department of Public Safety invites experienced design firms to submit qualifications to provide full design services for the renovation of the existing Building Automation System for the 32-bed Chatham Youth Development Center located in Siler City, NC. Project scope consists of the design of a replacement building automation system and fire alarm system. The existing building automation system is a UL listed smoke control system. This project will move the execution of the smoke control function from the building automation system to the fire alarm system. Full design services are required and will include planning, schematic design, design development and construction document phases of design, bidding, construction administration services and project closeout as defined by the State Construction Manual. Specific experience in the renovation of youth development or youth detention facilities, building automation systems, and fire alarms is a qualifying factor for evaluation of design teams.
