The project includes constructing approximately 27,385 new GSF building with 11,800 GSF of walled, partially covered exterior lab space supporting teaching, community outreach, and industry partnerships in an integrated, state-of-the-art facility. The proposed building structure will offer a flexible configuration that promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and student engagement while fostering highly skilled employment connections with local industry leaders. Additionally, the design will complement and strengthen the change of direction RCC finds following the COVID pandemic and the anticipated influx of new students from the Public Schools of Robeson County’s new CTE High school program. In addition, the new building will seek to take advantage of Federal rebates to install sustainable energy initiatives that reduce the energy demands of the new building and provide teaching opportunities for students interested in the sustainable energy field.
