It is the intent of this specification to describe the standards for firefighting apparatus to be used in performing general firefighting duties and activities. The apparatus shall be built to the requirements of NFPA Standard 1901 (most recent edition) for Mobile Water Supply. The maximum top speed of the apparatus shall not exceed 60 mph. All FAMA and NFPA Warning Labels shall be installed in accordance with the respective standards. Construction Documents, Operation and Service Documents and Statement of Exceptions shall be provided upon delivery. The fire pump shall be designed, tested, and certified to the pump manufacturer’s specifications to meet the requested rating to NFPA 1901, current edition. The fire department shall be notified prior to the pump certification so plans can be arranged to travel to the facility to witness the test. The pump shall be certified in U.S. Gallons per minute (GPM). The Cab shall be painted in a two-tone fashion with an upper and lower color. The “A” and “B” Pillars along with the Cab Roof shall be one color. The paint break shall be a parallel line approximately 2” below the cab door windows, and this line shall follow the angle of the of the cab door windows.
