1. Design and construct a project to reduce energy, improve operations and support high-quality learning environments. 2. Maintain a safe, injury-free work site. 3. Minimize any scheduling, budgeting, and operational impacts to the Owner through close coordination and timely communication with the Owner, subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and its customers. 4. Design the capital improvements based on close GCS input through the various stages of design regarding building specifications and operational requirements. 5. Provide up-to-date documentation on any requested and agreed upon program requirements from GCS 6. to ensure no changes are made during construction. 7. Complete the project on time and within the GCS’s budget and optimize lifecycle costs with initialcapital costs. a. Provide a project that reliably meets or exceeds all regulatory and permitting requirements. b. Provide a project that supports the GCS’s energy & sustainability goals through innovative and practical technologies, processes, or practices that take into account the GCS’s targets such as the Energy and Natural Resource Conservation and Management Policy. But, we as a district strive to have facilities that use zero-carbon sources and LEED principles for buildings. Provide seamless transition of the capital improvements to the GCS’s operations and maintenance team. 9. Maximize contracting opportunities with HUB MWSBE firms. If firm is designated as a Minority/Woman-owned Business Enterprise, include appropriate documentation pertaining to NC HUB certification - North Carolina Office of Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB). Describe methods the firm utilizes to ensure participation of Minority/Women-owned businesses.Minority participation in this program is very high in the overall selection criteria.
