The County of Harnett, North Carolina, (“County”) is soliciting Requests for Qualifications (RFQ) from architectural and engineering firms with expertise in the design and construction of the new Farmers Market in Lillington, NC. The new Harnett County Farmers Market Complex will be located off McKinney Parkway in Lillington, NC 27546. The approximately 4.5-acre site is between the Harnett Regional Water Administration Building and Alexander Drive. The complex will be developed in two phases. Phase One (I) is anticipated to consist of land preparation, minimal parking, drainage, water and sewer hookups, and the construction of the Farmers Market using current sustainability practices. This new facility will accommodate farmers selling produce and other agricultural products, contain a market manager’s office, restrooms, and storage for market materials and supplies. Approximate size of the structure would be 15,000 Square feet. The sales area will be an open-air design. Phase Two (II) is anticipated to consist of a commercial kitchen that will be used as a food innovation hub and a meeting space capable of seating 300-350 people, however, the focus of this RFQ is Phase One (I).
