ADA General Contracting Specifications and Requirements: • Thorough working knowledge of current Americans with Disabilities Act Standards and ICC/ANSI A117.1 – Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities • EPA Lead-based Paint Hazard RRP certification (North Carolina State Health Hazards Control Unit certified) • NC Commercial General Contracting License with an in-depth knowledge/understanding of current State and Local building codes, including Accessibility Code • Ability to provide solutions to a multitude of accessibility issues; problem-solving and working under the ADA Standards and Accessibility code to meet needs/requirements of each situation • Ability to respond promptly and perform work in a timely and quality manner, working effectively with school schedules (occasional after-hours or weekend/holiday work) • Projects can be interior or exterior, ranging from small to large. Some examples would be bathroom remodels; moving or adding walls; moving or adding plumbing, electrical or HVAC utilities; ordering/installation of accessibility signage; removal and installation of grab bars, toilets, showers, stalls, plumbing fixtures; concrete work (ramps, walkways, grinding, etc.); railings; painting; visual impairment painting/marking and more • Must meet all insurance requirements and provide all vehicles/transportation, general construction supplies, PPE and tools. Specialty tools and tool rentals are billable along with materials.
