Butner, NC (Granville County) 107 acres of mixed deciduous forest to be restored to natural forest and managed ecologically including ~28 acres to be managed for rare ecological community and rare plants (Natural Heritage Program Nature Preserve). Harnett Correctional Institution- 1210 E. McNeill St. Lillington, NC 27546 (Harnett County)- 128 acres mature timberland (excludes ~18-acre wetland complex) to be managed ecologically. Johnston Correctional Institution- 2465 US 70W, Smithfield, NC 27577 (Johnston County)- 76 acres of mixed pine deciduous forest. To be restored to natural forest and managed ecologically. (~22 acres dedicated as Natural Heritage Program Nature Preserve. NCCIW- 1034 Bragg St. Raleigh, NC (Wake County) 86 acres mature timberland (excludes ~11 acres wetland complex) to be restored to natural forest and managed ecologically (55.2 acres Natural Heritage Program Nature Preserve). Odom Correctional Institution (closed)- 485 Odom Prison Rd. Jackson, NC (Northampton County)- 475 acres timber/ag land to be restored to natural forest to be managed ecologically (121 acres Natural Heritage Program Nature Preserve). Southern Correctional Institution – 272 Glenn Rd. Troy, NC (Montgomery County)- 74 acres mixed deciduous/pine forest to be restored to natural forest and managed ecologically. Tyrrell PWF- Snell Rd., Columbia, NC (Tyrrell County)- 53 acres clearcut needs reforestation to natural forest and managed ecologically.
