1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS a. Work shall be performed in accordance with all applicable State and Local Codes and regulations governing this project. b. The contractor will be responsible for securing and paying for all regulatory permits and/or inspections required. c. Entrance to the installation site is restricted; work schedules must be coordinated with ONWASA to ensure access. d. Contractor shall conduct operations in such a manner as to avoid damage to well site facilities (controls, building, security gate and fencing, etc.). Any such damage shall be repaired by the contractor at no additional cost to ONWASA. 2. CONSTRUCT NEW GENERATOR MOUNTING PAD a. Provide a steel-reinforced, cast-in-place concrete pad; dimensions shall be based on the footprint and weight of the fuel tank/generator combination when fully fueled. b. Proposed pad location shall be marked in the field for review/approval by ONWASA prior to construction. c. The proposed location shall allow a four foot (4’) minimum clearance between the existing fence and generator installation site. d. The contractor is responsible for leveling the ground at the pad site if required. 3. INSTALL NEW FUEL SUPPLY TANK a. The contractor shall furnish and install a new 1000-gallon base-mounted double-wall fuel tank on the concrete mounting pad. b. The contractor shall furnish and install a new fuel pick-up line, fuel return line, and all other components necessary from the generator to the fuel tank to provide a fully functional system. c. Tank dimensions SHALL NOT allow the installed height to exceed five feet (5’) from the finished grade to the top of the fuel tank. d. Tank shall be shop fabricated and capable of mounting/to a concrete slab. e. Tank exterior shall be fully coated to prohibit corrosion and include three-inch (3”) high lettering labeled COMBUSTIBLE-KEEP FIRE AWAY. f. Tank shall be fitted with a two-inch (2”) diameter filler neck with a lockable screw-on cap. g. Tank shall include a visible float-type fuel level indicator gauge. h. Fuel line pick up and return shall include threaded connections. Threaded connections shall be noncorrosive and approved for this application. i. Exposed fuel pick-up line and return shall be securely mounted to the concrete slab with a non-corrosive mounting system suitable for this application and shall be painted safety yellow. j. Manufacturer’s specifications (cut sheets) for the proposed unit shall be submitted to ONWASA for review and approval before purchase. k. Mounting to the concrete pad shall be performed in accordance with the tank manufacturer’s requirements. l. ONWASA will fill the tank with fuel once installed for acceptance testing (see Item 7).
