Summary of Specifications:
The City of Jacksonville is requesting BIDS for the THOMPSON SCHOOL CREEK WATER QUALITY IMPROVEMENTS & BOARDWALK PHASE III to be constructed along Thompson School Creek with the address of 4 Court Street, Jacksonville, NC. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Installation of approximately 2,200 linear feet of sedimentation fence, removal of approximately 40,000 square feet of dense vegetation, removal of debris and trash, and construction of approximately 1,070 linear feet of wooden boardwalk, 285 square feet of viewing platform, and a 12' x 12' covered pavillion and appurtenances. Copies of the bid documents and plans may be obtained from the Public Services Offices located at 804 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, N.C. 28540. All bids are to be returned to the City Clerk's office by 2:00 pm (local time) on Friday, August 11, 2006. Bids may be delivered or mailed to: City of Jacksonville, City Clerk's office, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. NON-MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING: There will be a Non-mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting held at 11:00 am (local time) on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at 4 Court Street, Jacksonville, N.C. No Bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of Bids for a period of sixty (60) days pending the execution of a Contract by the successful Bidder. Should the successful Bidder default and not execute a Contract, then the Contract would be offered to the next lowest and responsible Bidder. The City reserves the right to waive any informality, to reject any or all bids, and to accept the Bid which is in the City's best interest.
