Summary of Specifications:
The City of Jacksonville is requesting BIDS for the THOMPSON SCHOOL CREEK WATER QUALITY IMPROVEMENTS AND BOARDWALK PHASE III, to be constructed along Thompson School Creek with the address of 4 Court Street, Jacksonville, NC. Description of Work:Install of approximately 2,200 linear feet of sedimentation fence, removal of approximately 40,000 square feet of dense vegetation, removal of debris and trash, and construction of approximately 1,070 linear feet of wooden boardwalk, 285 square feet of viewing platform, and a 12' x 12' covered pavilion and appurtenances. Copies of the bid documents and plans may be obtained from the Public Services located at 804 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. Due to receiving less than three (3) bids at the bid opening on August 11,2006, the bid opening has been extended. All bids are to be returned to the City Clerk's Office by 3:00 pm (local time) on Friday, August 18, 2006. Bids may be delivered or mailed to: City of Jacksonville, City Clerks Office, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. No Bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of Bids for a period of sixty (60) days pending the execution of a Contract by the successful Bidder. Should the successful Bidder default and not execute a Contract, the Contract would be offered to the next lowest and responsible Bidder. The City reserves the right to waive any informality, to reject any or all bids, and to accept the Bid which is in the City's best interest.
