Summary of Specifications:
The City of Jacksonville’s Land Application Wastewater Treatment System (LTS) is currently designed to treat 6.0 million gallons per day (MGD) of wastewater with expansion potential to 9.0 MGD. All wastewater generated in the City is collected at the Main Pump Station located within the City and pumped through approximately 8 miles of 36” DIP forcemain to the 6,277 acre facility site with an influent odor control facility, 40 million gallons of aerated pretreatment, a 340 million gallon storage lagoon, an effluent chlorination facility, an effluent pumping structure and 18,000 spray irrigation units at a spacing of 60 feet x 80 feet over a 260 mile network of piping. The treated wastewater is applied in a pine forest at the rate of 1.4 inches per week during the summer months and 0.7 inches per week during the winter months.
The City of Jacksonville is requesting qualifications from Environmental Engineering Firms (ENGINEER) to perform professional environmental and engineering services necessary to complete plans, specifications, and contract documents meeting the approval of the City and regulatory agencies and those professional tasks and services necessary to bid the project up to and including awarding of contracts to construct the project for the upgrade and expansion of the system to effectively and efficiently treat 9 MGD.
