Summary of Specifications:
The City of Jacksonville is soliciting proposals from independent inspection and testing agencies to perform materials testing on behalf of the City in the construction of a new Center for Public Safety. The Center for Public Safety project consists of the construction of a 95,000 square foot two-story building that will house the Police Department, Fire Administration, 911 Call Center, and Fire Station #1 to include all site work, general construction, fire protection, plumbing, mechanical and electrical work. The project will also include the realignment of Court Street, installation of a new traffic signal, demolition of the existing two-story Police and Fire Department building, and renovation of a one-story accessory building. Construction is expected to commence in July 2012 and be complete within 750 calendar days.
This Request for Proposals (RFP) is limited to materials testing only. The City of Jacksonville will be soliciting a Request for Qualifications for Special Testing.
All proposals should be in a marked envelope entitled “Request for Proposals – Materials Testing Services for the Center for Public Safety”. Proposals are to be returned to the Public Services Department by 5:00 PM on July 19, 2012 at the Public Services Division at Jacksonville City Hall located at 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540.
