Summary of Specifications:
The City of Jacksonville is soliciting proposals from independent testing laboratories for the performance of sampling and testing during the City’s Wastewater Land Treatment System Upgrade and Expansion Project. The contract for construction of this project was recently awarded. This project has a completion date of 17 months from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. A notice to proceed for the construction work is expected to be issued on or before August 11, 2008.
All proposals should be in a marked envelope entitled “Request for Proposals – Materials Testing Services for the LTS Project”. Proposals are to be returned to the Public Services Department by 5:00 PM on July 31, 2008 at the Public Services Division at Jacksonville City Hall located at 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540.
The Firm will be required to provide construction material testing services which might include testing of concrete, masonry, aggregates, asphalt, soils, and other various general laboratory material tests per American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards. Services shall consist of taking site samples, measurements, conducting laboratory testing and furnishing various reports on materials testing results.The Firm shall furnish all technical personnel, labor, materials, machinery, tools, all necessary labels, sample containers, equipment and services, including transportation. All analysis and services shall be provided in a timely fashion.
