This project showed the incorrect close date at the top of this page; however, the bid closing date remains unchanged. Bids are due August 3, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Sealed Bids from qualified Bidders for the construction of the Williams Street Water and Sewer Replacement Project will be received, by the City Clerk of the City of Jacksonville, at Meeting Room A, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540, until 11:00 AM Eastern Standard Time on August 3, 2010, at which time they will be publicly opened and read. The project consists includes work related to replacement of water and sewer system infrastructure along Williams Street between Elm Street and Davis Street and approximately 192 feet of sewer along Davis Street in Jacksonville, NC. Work to be performed under this Contract is the replacement of water and sewer lines including, but is not limited to, materials and labor for installing 6-inch water lines and 8-inch diameter PVC and DIP sewer lines, all fire hydrants, valves, connections to existing piping, sewer services, sewer cleanouts, water services, demolitions and abandonment of pipelines. The project also includes all necessary curb and gutter replacement, paving, sediment and erosion control procedures, traffic control and all other work required to complete the project. Bids will be received on single contract basis. Bids shall be on a lump sum and/or unit price basis. Bidding Documents may be examined at the office of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. Copies may be obtained from the offices of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540 for the non-refundable amount of $50 for each set. Payment for documents must be received by the Engineering Division and shall be made payable to the City of Jacksonville. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available. Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including any addenda, obtained from other sources. Checks for documents shall be made payable to the City of Jacksonville. Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the additional, non-refundable cost of shipment. The City of Jacksonville will conduct a Pre-Bid meeting at City Hall, Meeting Room A, on July 16, 2010 at 3:00 PM immediately followed by a site visit. The Jacksonville City Council reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all Bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner’s best interest.
