Summary of Specifications:
Sealed Bids from qualified Bidders for the construction of the University Drive Pump Station Improvements will be received, by the City Clerk of the City of Jacksonville, at New Bridge Conference Room in City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540, until 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on November 5, 2009, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.
The work described in this contract includes the demolition of the existing pumps, piping and concrete structures and the construction of a new submersible wastewater pump station and the rerouting of some gravity sewer and force main at pump station site. Also included will be all associated piping, excavation, concrete, site work, electrical and appurtenances. The work described in this contract includes the total construction of all electrical work for each location in the City of Jacksonville including all switches, controls, connections to the stand-by generator, equipment relocation, electrical service relocation, and appurtenances.
Bidding Documents may be examined at the office of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. Copies may be obtained from the offices of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540 for the non-refundable amount of $50.00 for each set. Payment for documents must be received by the Engineering Division and shall be made payable to the City of Jacksonville. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available. Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including any addenda, obtained from other sources. Checks for documents shall be made payable to the City of Jacksonville. Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the additional, non-refundable cost of shipment.
The City of Jacksonville will conduct a Pre-Bid meeting at City Hall, Meeting Room A, on October 14, 2009 at 10:00 AM immediately followed by a site visit.
The Jacksonville City Council reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all Bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner’s best interest.
