Summary of Specifications:
Sealed Bids from qualified Bidders for the construction of the Seminole Trail Water and Sewer Replacement Project will be received, by the City Clerk of the City of Jacksonville, at Meeting Room A, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540, until 10:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on November 19, 2009, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.
The project consists of replacement of water and sewer infrastructure along Seminole Trail. Work to be performed under this Contract related to replacement of the sanitary sewer and water distribution lines, but is not limited to, materials and labor for installing 6-inch PVC water pipe and 8-inch diameter PVC and DIP sanitary sewer pipe. Included, but not limited to, are all manholes, fire hydrants, valves, connections to existing piping, demolitions, abandonment of pipelines, and all other work required to complete the Work.
Bidding Documents may be examined at the office of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. Copies may be obtained from the offices of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540 for the non-refundable amount of $50.00 for each set. Payment for documents must be received by the Engineering Division and shall be made payable to the City of Jacksonville. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available. Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including any addenda, obtained from other sources. Checks for documents shall be made payable to the City of Jacksonville. Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the additional, non-refundable cost of shipment.
The City of Jacksonville will conduct a Pre-Bid meeting at City Hall, Meeting Room A, on November 4, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. immediately followed by a site visit.
The Jacksonville City Council reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all Bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner’s best interest.
