Summary of Specifications:
Sealed Bids from qualified Bidders for the construction of the Sturgeon City Boardwalk III Project will be received, by the City Clerk of the City of Jacksonville, at Meeting Room A, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540, until 3:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on August 5, 2009, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.
The project includes the construction of wooden boardwalk, boat dock, viewing platform and related site work. The project is located adjacent to Sturgeon City Park at the intersection of Court Street and Loyola Drive in Jacksonville, North Carolina. The construction of the boardwalk will occur over protected marsh lands, the waters of Wilson Bay and portions of the park property. The Work consists of the construction of approximately 700 linear feet of six foot wide boardwalk, a 400 square foot viewing platform; a boat dock, installation of erosion and sedimentation control structures and site preparation. The work includes all equipment, labor, material, and services required for the Sturgeon City Boardwalk III Project as described in the supplied plans, specifications and contract documents.
Bids will be received on Single Prime contract basis. Bids shall be on a lump sum and/or unit price basis.
Bidding Documents may be examined at the office of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. Copies may be obtained from the offices of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540 for the non-refundable amount of $100.00 for each set. Payment for documents must be received by the Engineering Division and shall be made payable to the City of Jacksonville. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available. Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including any addenda, obtained from other sources. Checks for documents shall be made payable to the City of Jacksonville. Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the additional, non-refundable cost of shipment.
The City of Jacksonville will conduct a Pre-Bid meeting at City Hall, Meeting Room A, on July 22, 2009 at 10:00 AM immediately followed by a site visit.
The Jacksonville City Council reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all Bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner’s best interest.
