Summary of Specifications:
Sealed Bids from qualified Bidders for the construction of the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation 2010 will be received, by the City Clerk of the City of Jacksonville, at Meeting Room A & B, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540, until 3:00 pm Eastern Standard Time on September 30, 2010 at which time they will be publicly opened and read.
The project consists furnishing all materials, equipment, supplies, labor, transportation, fuel, power, for: 1. Heavy Cleaning of 21 - 24-in pipe. 2. Installation of 8 – 24 in. cured-in-place pipe liner (CIPPL), including, but not limited to bypass pumping, closed circuit televisual (CCTV) inspections, service connection protrusion removal, and later tap reinstatement. 3. Manhole Rehabilitation and abandonment. as shown on the set of Drawings entitled “2010 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project” dated August 2010. The Work also includes all excavation, backfilling, pavement and right-of-way restoration, tests and inspections and all other related work required to complete the Project.
Bidding Documents may be examined at the office of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. Copies may be obtained from the offices of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540 for the non-refundable amount of $45.00 for each set. Payment for documents must be received by the Engineering Division and shall be made payable to the City of Jacksonville. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available. Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including any addenda, obtained from other sources. Checks for documents shall be made payable to the City of Jacksonville. Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the additional, non-refundable cost of shipment.
The City of Jacksonville will conduct a Pre-Bid meeting at City Hall, Meeting Room A & B on September 7, 2010 at 2:00 pm immediately followed by a site visit.
Bidders shall provide proof of qualifications to perform the Work as described in Article 5 of the Instructions to Bidders. In order to be pre-qualified to bid on this Project, Bidders shall submit the Bidder Qualifications Statement described in the Instructions to Bidders. Completed Bidder Qualifications Statements shall be received by 12:00 pm on September 10, 2010 at City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC.
The Jacksonville City Council reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all Bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner’s best interest.
