The City of Jacksonville (COJ) operates a water system that provides water to residents
and businesses in Jacksonville, Onslow County, North Carolina (PWS ID #04-67-010).
The COJ Castle Hayne Aquifer well field includes Well DF1. Production Well DF1 is
located in the Deerfield subdivision on Hearthstone Drive, Jacksonville, NC. Well DF1
currently includes a pumping system that is capable of producing 600 gallons per minute
(gpm). Through evaluation and testing it was determined that Well DF1 should be rated
at 1100 gpm. Work of this proposed Contract includes:
1. Replacement of existing pumping and electrical components at Well DF1
with components sized for the higher flow rate as shown in the Drawings.
2. Replacement of the generator at Well DF1 with a larger generator, doublewalled
base mounted fuel tank, and electrical components.
3. Removal of the Well DF1 generator from the site and relocation to the site
of Well FV1 in the Foxhorn Village subdivision (Foxhorn Road, Jacksonville,
NC) where the generator will be installed with new electrical components to
serve Well FV1.
4. All construction, testing and start-up of the Work at Well Sites DF1 and FV1
necessary to complete the Work as stated in the Specifications and shown
in the Drawings.
