RE-ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS 2006 ANNUAL STREET RECONSTRUCTION JACKSONVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA
BID FY 06-08A
REQUEST FOR BIDS: Sealed bids will be received by Carmen Miracle; City Clerk of the City of Jacksonville, in the Johnson Blvd. Conference Room located at 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540 until 11:00 a.m. (local time) on Friday, April 28, 2006, and immediately thereafter publicly opened and read aloud. Any bid(s) received later than 11:00 a.m. (local time) on Friday, April 28, 2006, will be returned unopened.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This Annual Street Reconstruction contract encompasses ten (10) city streets plus or minus those that may be added or deleted by authorized change order or not awarded due to cost.
BID DOCUMENTS: Specifications and Contract Documents may be examined and/or obtained in the following office: • City of Jacksonville – Public Services Department/Engineering Division, located at 804 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC
Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the full cost incurred for shipment.
Bids shall be properly and completely executed on Bid Forms contained in the Contract Documents.
No Bidder may withdraw the bid within a period of 60 days following the date set for the receiving of bids. The City reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than 60 days and said bid shall remain in full force and effect during said time.
The City reserves the right to waive informalities, to reject any or all bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids that are in the best interest of the City.
BID SECURITY: Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Security equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount. Any bid not accompanied by the aforementioned Bid Security will be deemed to be a non-responsive Bid.
BONDS: A Performance Bond and Payment Bond each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract price will be required from the Contractor to whom the work is awarded.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Bidders must be properly licensed under Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes and under Municipal Code 11-9. A Business Privilege License is required to engage in business in the City of Jacksonville.
