Description: The work to be performed under this Contract includes, but is not limited to, the construction of approximately 3775 linear feet of 20-inch sewer force main including all pipe, fittings, plug and gate valves, air release valves, blow-offs, taps, connections to the existing 14-inch force main at the Henderson Drive Pump Station and 24-inch force main on the Phillips Park site, temporary bypass pumping and all other related work required to complete the Work.
Bids will be received by the City Clerk of the City of Jacksonville in Meeting Room B, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, North Carolina 28540 until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 and then at said office, publicly opened and read aloud.
The CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be examined and/or obtained at the office of the Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 211 Johnson Blvd. (PO Box 128), Jacksonville, NC 28540. Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the additional, non-refundable cost of shipment.
Each Bidder must deposit a five (5%) percent Bid Security with his/her Bid as provided for in the Instructions to Bidders.
The Jacksonville City Council reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner's best interest.
BIDDERS must be properly licensed under Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes and under Municipal Code 11-9. A Business Privilege License is required to engage in business in the City of Jacksonville.
The successful Bidder will be required to furnish 100% Contract Security as provided for in the Instructions to Bidders. Such security shall be in the form of a payment bond and a performance bond.
