Summary of Specifications:
1. SCOPE OF WORK The City of Jacksonville is soliciting bids for scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs of City-owned generators, switches, and components. Work will include, but is not limited to, fluid changes, battery changes, load tests, and inspections. All work shall be performed on location.
2. INTRODUCTION The City of Jacksonville owns and operates generators used for emergency purposes. To ensure proper working order, scheduled maintenance must be performed.
3. PROPOSALS DUE All proposals are due on no later than 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2014. Interested bidders must sign this Request for Proposals and either fax it to (910) 938-5072 or deliver it to Allen Baker at the Public Services Division at Jacksonville City Hall located at 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540.
4. TERM OF CONTRACT The term for this contract will begin on July 1, 2014 and will automatically renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods, under the same terms and conditions for a total of three (3) continuous fiscal years, ending June 30, 2017 unless terminated by either party as noted in the “Right to Terminate Contract” section in this Request for Proposals.
5. AWARD OF BID The bid shall be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder, taking into consideration quality, performance, and time individually for the generator maintenance.
6. RIGHTS The Jacksonville City Council reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner's best interest. Owner reserves the right to award all or part of this Request for Proposals.
7. INSPECTION OF GENERATOR SITES If you wish to inspect one or all of the generator sites, please email Allen Baker at allenbaker@jacksonvillenc.gov to schedule an appointment.

9. RIGHT TO TERMINATE CONTRACT If in the judgment of the Owner, the Bidder is not capable of providing the desired service in accordance with the Contract documents either because of financial reasons, unsatisfactory tools or equipment, the Owner shall have the right to cancel or terminate under this Contract by giving the Bidder seven (7) days written notice.
