Summary of Specifications:
Sealed bids from qualified bidders for the construction of the Buddy Phillips Forcemain Abandonment and Improvements will be received, by the City Clerk of the City of Jacksonville, at Meeting Room A, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540, until 2:00 PM Local Time on September 9, 2008, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.
The project consists of the following: 1. Installation of approximately 775 linear feet of 14-inch ductile iron sewage forcemain, approximately 7,730 linear feet of 10-inch ductile iron sewage forcemain, and approximately 1,100 linear feet of 6-inch ductile iron sewage forcemain including a 100 linear foot trenchless crossing of U.S. Route 17. 2. Replacement of the existing Brinson Creek Pump Station with one (1) 1,100 gallon per minute (gpm) firm capacity submersible sewage pump station. 3. Upgrades to the existing Collins Height Pump Station to increase the firm capacity to 725 gpm. 4. Replacement of the existing Fisherman's Wharf Pump Station with one (1) 325 gpm firm capacity submersible sewage pump station. 5. Replacement of the existing Triangle Pump Station which consists of the construction of one (1) 100 gpm firm capacity submersible sewage pump station. 6. Demolition/abandonment of existing forcemains and pump stations.
Bids will be received on a single prime contract basis. Bids shall be a lump sum basis.
Bidding documents may be examined at the office of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. Copies may be obtained from the offices of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540 for the nonrefundable amount of $150.00 for each set. Payment for documents must be received by the Engineering Division and shall be made payable to the City of Jacksonville. Partial sets of bidding documents will not be available.
The City will conduct a pre-bid meeting at City Hall, Meeting Room A, on August 21, 2008 at 2:00 PM immediately followed by a site visit.
The Jacksonville City Council reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all Bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner's best interest.
