Summary of Specifications:
This Annual Street Reconstruction contract encompasses three (3) city streets (Barksdale Drive, Woodhaven Drive, and Woodhaven Court) to be completed in their entirety and one (Alden Drive) to have all work performed with the exception of the surface asphalt, plus or minus any changes that may be added or deleted by authorized change order or not award due to cost. Work will include in place reclamation of existing asphalt along with the injection of lime, Portland cement, or asphalt emulsion, and water as described in the contract documents. All streets in this contract have curb and gutter and will have some of the reclaimed material removed to allow for a smooth transition between the new asphalt surface course and the curb. If any streets are added with strip pavement, they will have additional dirt (top soil) brought in, graded, fertilized, seeded, and mulched to build up the shoulders. All roads that are to be paved will receive two (2) inches of S-9.5B super-pave asphalt as a surface coat.
All bids are to be returned to Tom Anderson by 10:00 AM on January 4, 2007 at the Engineering Division at Jacksonville City Hall located at 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540.
The CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be examined and/or obtained at the office of the Engineering Division at Jacksonville City Hall located at 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the additional, non-refundable cost of shipment.
The Jacksonville City Council reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner's best interest.
BIDDERS must be properly licensed under Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes and under Municipal Code 11-9. A Business Privilege License is required to engage in business in the City of Jacksonville.
