Summary of Specifications:
Sealed bids from qualified bidders for the construction of the Wastewater Land Treatment System Upgrade and Expansion will be received by the City Clerk of the City of Jacksonville at Meeting Room A, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540, until 4:00 PM Local time on May 14, 2008 at which time they will be publicly opened and read. The project consists of the following three Contracts: Contract 1 - Installation of new effluent storage lagoon, permanent paving and installation of aeration systems, baffle walls, slurry walls, piping, valves and appurtenances. Contract 2 - Installation of approximately 64 miles of transmission, header, and lateral piping spray irrigation piping, sprinkler head assemblies, installation of valves, etc. Contract 3 - Upgrades to Main Pump Station, construction of equalization tank and upgrades to effluent pump station. Bids will be received on a single prime basis. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis. Bidding documents may be examined at the office of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. Copies may be obtained from the offices of the Owner for a non-refundable fee of $450 for each set. Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the additional, non-refundable cost of shipping. The Jacksonville City Council reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all Bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner's best interest.
