Sealed bids for the BRYNN MARR PUMPING STATION RENOVATIONS in JACKSONVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA, BID NO. FY 06-17182 consisting of:
Description: This project location is the Brynn Marr Pumping Station and includes but is not limited to the removal of Federal Pacific Service Equipment and Motor Control Center (MCC), interior lighting fixtures, communitor, and deteriorated steel beam over existing communitor. The 480/277 Volt automatic transfer switch will be relocated during this project and the MCC, Variable Frequency Drives, PLC, lighting/receptacle power panel and interior light fixtures will be replaced as part of this project. Also, the existing communitor will be replaced with a grinder/chewing unit that includes new controls and all metal grating in the communitor room will be replaced during the project.
The contractor will be responsible for keeping the existing equipment powered up for the duration of the project. The pump station will not be allowed to be without power for more than 4 hours.
Bids will be received by Tim Webb, Plant Maintenance Supervisor for the City of Jacksonville until 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 7, 2006. Bids can be mailed to: City of Jacksonville, PO Box 128, Jacksonville, NC 28541. Individuals can also mail or deliver their bid to the City’s physical location which is 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540.
The CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be examined and/or obtained at the Public Services Office which is temporarily located across from the main City Hall building at 804 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville NC, 28540. Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the non-refundable cost of shipment.
Each Bidder must deposit a five (5%) percent Bid Security with his/her Bid as provided for in the Instructions to Bidders.
A Pre-bid Meeting has been scheduled for 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at the Brynn Marr Pump Station. Please note that this is a MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING. NO BID WILL BE ACCEPTED FROM ANY BIDDER WHO DOES NOT ATTEND THIS PRE-BID MEETING.
The City reserves the right to waive informalities and to reject any or all bids.
BIDDERS must be properly licensed under Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes and under Municipal Code 11-9. A Business Privilege License is required to engage in business in the City of Jacksonville.
The successful Bidder will be required to furnish 100% Contract Security as provided in the Instructions to Bidders. Such security shall be in the form of a payment bond and a performance bond.

No Bid may be withdrawn within sixty (60) days after the date of Bid Opening except as except as provided under G.S. 143-129.1
