Summary of Specifications:
It is the intent of these specifications to describe and provide for a complete refuse disposal system and service. It shall be the contractor’s responsibility to provide the appropriate equipment and pick up schedule to accommodate each site in a timely manner. Bidders are cautioned to make themselves familiar with each site before submission of bids. The Contractor shall provide pickup, cartage and disposal service on a year around basis and at such frequency as may be required. If for any reason, the contractor performs any of the herein required work or service for any other than a whole month period at the sites herein designated as year around service sites, he shall do so at no cost to the County. Service requested is for collection of all waste indicated with processable waste to be delivered to the Adirondack Resource Recovery Facility or such other facility as may be designated by Warren County. The direction to deliver waste to the Adirondack Resource Recovery Facility does not include infectious waste or any other waste not accepted at said facility. Disposal of the latter waste shall be the contractor’s obligation and in accordance with Federal and State law, rules and/or regulations. In keeping with the regulations promulgated by the State Health Department, the Contractor shall provide for the collection and disposal of infectious waste, on an as needed “on call” basis, which must be within 48 hours after notification by Westmount Health Facility or Warren County Public Health Services. Sheriff’s Office medical waste shall be picked up every 2 weeks on a set schedule to be provided to the facility by the successful bidder. All materials for disposal, including 4.5 cubic foot boxes or other acceptable receptacles, red bags, ties, bar code information and name tags to be provided by the handler. Box size shall be so noted in bid proposal. Contractor shall comply with any and all current and new State DOH regulations for the term of contract. In addition, Warren County requires complete description of services provided, including barcode use, report services and any other service included with bid proposal.
