REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR PROFESSIONAL DESIGN AND ENGINEERING SERVICES

(ROUTE 22 AND SCHOOL ST., DOVER PLAINS CROSSWALK IMPROVEMENTS)

The Town of Dover seeks proposals from civil engineer and design consultants for engineering design and final plans (at NYS DOT Highway Work Permit application level specifications):

1) assess and correct deficiencies of the pedestrian crosswalk at the intersection of Route 22 and School St. in Dover Plains and

2) preparation of engineering and design plans (at NYS DOT Highway Work Permit application level specification) for the construction of new sidewalks that include ADA-compliant curb cuts, six-foot sidewalk sections, curbs and gutters and the installation of two solar-powered LED rapid flashing beacons at the crossings.

A request for proposal (RFP) packet will be available starting on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025 at the Town Clerk’s Office, Dover Town Hall, 126 East Duncan Hill Rd., Dover Plains, NY; upon request to the Town Clerk’s Office at (845) 832-6111 (then Option 2 for the Town Clerks’ Office or by email at townclerk@doverny.us; on the Town of Dover’s website at https://www.doverny.us/bids and on Empire Purchasing Group/Bidnet website at https://www.bidnetdirect.com/new-york/town-of-dover.

To request a site visit with town staff or for questions about the RFP or scope of work, please contact the Town Clerk’s Office at (845) 832-6111 (then Option 2 for the Town Clerk’s Office) or by email at townclerk@doverny.us no later than 12 p.m. EST on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

Proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked, “Route 22 and School St. Crosswalk Improvements Project” in physical format to the Town Clerk’s Office, Dover Town Hall, 126 East Duncan Hill Rd., Dover Plains, NY 12522 by 10 a.m. EST on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 when they will be opened and publicly read.
