Description

Tompkins County is issuing this RFP to solicit proposals for broadband infrastructure and services to meet the needs of its unserved residents and businesses. The County is seeking innovative, scalable, sustainable, and future-proof solutions that will provide maximum benefit to its residents. Tompkins County anticipates creative solutions that may involve collaboration between broadband providers and the County to achieve 100% coverage to all currently unserved homes and businesses in the county.

A secondary outcome for this RFP is to expand the county’s dark fiber network. Selected bidder(s) will be asked to provide the county with the use of twelve (12) strands of fiber on each middle-mile segment built using County funds. This fiber will be used to support future operational needs of the county.
