8018 - Electrical Work at Various Authority-Owned Sites Zone A & Zone B

NOTICE TO BIDDERS
NOTICE  IS  HEREBY  GIVEN:  That  sealed  proposals  for  Electrical Work at Various Authority-Owned Sites for the period March 1, 2024 through February 28, 2025, will be received by the Purchasing Director, Suffolk County Water Authority at 3525 Sunrise Highway, Great River, New York 11739, no later than 11:00 AM, January 11, 2024 at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud. In addition, Bids will be accepted  electronically, prospective bidders have the opportunity to submit their bids via the following website: www.BidNetDirect.com/new-york
Invitation to Bid (ITB) documents are available for you to download by login in to the following websites  www.scwa.com or www.BidNetDirect.com/new-york. Questions and answers will also be posted on the public websites noted above.
Details relating to the proposed work are also on file and publicly exhibited at the Office of the Purchasing Department, of the Suffolk County Water Authority, 3525 Sunrise Highway, Great River, New York 11739 where copies of said documents may be obtained upon application.
Bidder’s should note that in an effort to address current supply chain delays and market uncertainties, Items 3 – 26 and 32 – 68 that had been Furnish and Install items are now Install only items.  Item 146 calls for the furnishing of these materials as outlined in the Contract Specifications.
The Authority will hold a pre-bid meeting starting at 10:00 a.m. January 3, 2024.  The meeting will be at Horseblock Road Well Field & Pump Station, located at 533 Horseblock Road N/S/O Horseblock road, 97’ W/O Lidge Drive, Farmingville, Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County, NY.   It is strongly recommended that all prospective Bidders attend the meeting.
Apprenticeship Agreement:  The Suffolk County Water Authority requires, pursuant to New York Labor Law Section 816-b, all Contractors and Subcontractors shall have, apprenticeship agreements appropriate for the type and scope of work to be performed under this Contract, that are registered with and approved by the New York State Commissioner of Labor pursuant to the requirements of New York Labor Law Article 23.  Evidence of such agreements for both contractors and subcontractors, if any, must be submitted with the bid.  The Suffolk County Water Authority has determined that apprenticeship agreements for electricians and for operating engineers (for excavation other than by hand) are the appropriate agreements for this contract.
