Penfield Hall, constructed in 1968, is a 192,298 GSF two-story library building. Lanigan Hall, constructed in 1967, is an 88,200 GSF, two-story building that houses a large portion of the Campus' lecture halls and classrooms, and portions of the Communication and Fine/Studio Arts departments. Renovations will include replacement of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems as well as needed interior rehabilitations. The Project will also study the use of district-based campus-wide geothermal systems to serve both Penfield and Lanigan Halls utilizing a geothermal exchange. Lastly, the project will study how the project can be phased technically and for reasons of affordability. The Project includes the removal of hazardous materials and will provide upgrades to meet current code and ADA requirements.
