Specifications include, but are not limited to: Replace existing natural grass fields with state-of-the-art infilled synthetic turf system. In-laid line markings will be provided for baseball/softball but other sports’ lines can be painted. The total area to be surfaced for the Joe Bruno Stadium is approximately 130,000 sf (+/- 3 acres.) The total area for the softball field is approximately 48,300 sf (+/- 1.1 Acres.) The scope of work for this project is to replace the existing natural grass fields with artificial turf fields. The existing facilities are grass and do not hold up to the practice and game schedules. New multipurpose synthetic turf fields are being sought to make the HVCC facilities safer and more resilient for our athletic programs. The facilities will also be used for the college’s physical education and intramural program, as well as by intercollegiate student-athletes on a regular basis. All athletic facilities should meet MLB & NCAA specifications for competition. The baseball stadium; Has an existing subsurface drainage system beneath it. Will need repairs/modifications to the railings and concrete in the seating area. It is believed that the bases of the railings are rusting causing concrete spalls/delamination. The softball field; Does not have an existing subsurface drainage system beneath it but it has points of connection to the existing drainage system nearby. Needs a press box and additional bleachers Needs repairs to the chain link fencing and concrete footings. Has dugouts that are comprised of a concrete slab on grade with chain link exterior and wooden roofing. If budget allows, improvements to dugouts will be considered. Examples of potential improvements would be bat/helmet racks, improvements to dugout materials, and/or higher quality benches.
