This project is the second phase of the DECO District Streetscape Improvements Project and continues recently completed streetscape improvements along State Street (Phase 1). The Base Bid of this phase entails similar streetscape improvements along segments of Henry Street, Washington and Lewis Streets, and Water Street. This project includes areas of full depth street reconstruction, upgraded drainage infrastructure, water main replacement and upgrades, milling and top course of pavements, intersection improvements, curb installations and extensions, sidewalk reconstruction, and new lighting. Multiple improvements intended to enhance pedestrian safety and comfort include traffic calming curb extensions, new ADA compliant pedestrian ramps, pedestrian signals and crosswalk treatments, accent lighting elements, street trees and furnishings, pedestrian scale signage, raised mid-block crossings, and landscape improvements. The landscape improvements include new curbside plantings, street trees with structural soils and/or tree grates, and green infrastructure measures to assist in stormwater management along the street corridors.
