Specifications include, but are not limited to: Shaft 17B-1 site is located in Sunnyside, Queens and the Shaft 18B-1 site in Maspeth, Queens. The scope of work for both site preparation contracts includes: (1) removal of vegetation; (2) site clearing and grading; (3) demolition of any existing structures; (4) relocation of any existing utilities; and (5) providing site access and site circulation for use by subsequent construction contractors. In addition, temporary protection structures are to be installed for above ground yard piping installed at Shaft 15B and 23B. Also contract work includes installation of a temporary hypo chlorination station. The CM shall provide continuous Construction Management Services, including Resident Engineering Inspection, with a staff commensurate with the level of construction activity. Unless directed by the Department, the CM will use its professional engineering judgment in making specific assignments in accordance with the specific construction contract requirements and schedule. CM shall possess robust knowledge in hazardous material remediation, above ground structures demolition, utility coordination and Maintenance and Protection of Traffic. The CM shall revise the final Contract Drawings, including supplementary drawings, to show the actual construction of all of the features of the work. In addition to maintaining mark-up drawings, the CM shall work on the as-built drawings and update them concurrent with construction progress for any system, or part of the work, that is to be backfilled or obstructed in any other way that will prevent field verification at a later time. The CM RE is required to certify as-built drawings accuracy and conformance with field installation prior to backfilling or completion of any other part of the project which will obstruct future field verification. As-built drawings verification shall be performed by the CM in a timely manner and such a way that will not delay the contractor’s planned work schedule.
