Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Objective 1a: Design, develop, and equip up to 112,000 SF of space at BAT with facilities and equipment needed to support climate innovation that include but are not limited to: o Shared workspaces and hosting facilities: affordable and flexible co-working and office spaces (including step out space), conference rooms, and event space for emerging market innovators, pre-commercial businesses, small companies, growth-stage and/or commercial stage companies (at a self-reported Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 4 – technology validated in a lab—to TRL 9 — system proven in operational environment or higher). o Shared lab facilities and/or advanced manufacturing equipment: shared multidisciplinary wet or chemical lab space and/or facility to house essential equipment and tools to build climate tech hardware and rapidly prototype products. o Infrastructure for testing and piloting technologies: facilities to test and pilot specific technologies on the BAT campus (i.e. dedicated interconnection point for battery and energy storage systems, a retrofitted parking garage outfitted with equipment to pilot EV charging solutions, etc.) at a self-reported TRL of 7 or higher. o Vibrant common area: architecturally striking common area of the hub, sized at a minimum 5,000 SF with double height ceilings that could be utilized for activities that may include convenings, pitch/demo days, conferences, lectures, etc. o Workforce Training Facilities: dedicated facilities that will develop the next generation of talent needed for green economy industries. • Objective 1b: Launch and manage a self-sustaining, fully equipped Climate Innovation Hub o The Chosen Respondent is responsible for securing operational and programmatic resources to launch and maintain the hub, and for developing a business model that will make the Hub self-sustaining. To this end, the Respondent is encouraged to partner with corporate sponsors, investors, and other state or federal government entities to fund the ongoing operation and management of the Hub. The Chosen Respondent is expected to adequately staff and manage the Hub to maximize the utility of its facilities in service of growing the climate tech ecosystem. • Objective 1c: Build a robust business demand pipeline for the Hub’s facilities and programs o The Chosen Respondent is responsible for generating sustainable industry demand for the Climate Innovation Hub’s facilities and programs.
