The County Executive of Putnam County, NY has initiated an effort to install a sanitary sewage collection system along the Route 6/202 corridor in the Town of Southeast, NY, from, and including a portion of, the Village of Brewster, eastward to the New York/Connecticut state line, to be connected to the Exit 2 area of Interstate 84 in the City of Danbury, CT, where there is the western limit of an existing sewage collection system that carries wastewater to the Danbury Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) on Plumtrees Road in Danbury. The plant currently treats 9 million gallons of wastewater per day. The City of Danbury may accept up to an estimated 320,000 gallons per day of wastewater from this new collection system in Putnam County.
