This RFP is designed to identify New York State licensed professional architectural and engineering (A/E) firms best qualified to provide the services necessary for the design and construction management of Drainage and Flood Improvements for the Bronx, Sprain and Saw Mill Rivers consistent with the requirements of the CDBG-DR funding stream. Respondents will be reviewed on the basis of their eligibility and ability to provide services in a manner sensitive to specific requirements and timetables established by federal law.
In order to enhance resiliency of drainage and flood related infrastructure, including related resilient design efforts, the City of Yonkers has determined that the following drainage and flood improvement projects be implemented, as recommended in the report: “Design and Flood Improvement Study – Bronx, Sprain and Saw Mill Rivers – September 2017” by Arcadis Engineers. Specifically, the following short-term flood mitigation projects were identified in the referenced report:
1. Stream Channel and Bank Restoration;
2. Odell Avenue Berm Repair and Improvements;
3. Removal of the Saw Mill River Dam at the Yonkers Water Treatment Plant;
4. Check Dam Removal at Metro North Railroad;
5. Pedestrian Footpath Replacement at Metro North Railroad;
6. Clunie Avenue Berm Repair and Improvements.

The successful Respondent will assist The City of Yonkers with all professional services necessary for design, bidding ,construction administration and inspection required for the above projects, in accordance with HUD and GOSR requirements and timetables.
