Question: Spec section 09 06 00 lists SECTION 08 51 23, STEEL WINDOW but this spec section is missing from the spec book. VA/AE Response: Steel windows are not in this project and the reference listed in specification section 09 06 00 to 08 51 23 can be removed. Question: Spec section 09 06 00 lists SECTION 08 56 19, PASS WINDOWS but this spec section is missing from the spec book. VA/AE Response: Pass Through Windows are in this project however there is no written specification, instead a basis of design for a powered pass through window is listed on the Return Hatch Detail on drawing AS1.04. Question: Spec section 09 65 16 and legend on room nish schedule drawing AE6.02 indicates WSF/ welded seam sheet ooring but none of the rooms in room nish schedule shows WSF, please specify which room numbers receive WSF. VA/AE Response: Welded Seam Sheet Flooring (WSF) is not in this project and can be removed from specification section 09 65 16 and the room finish schedule on drawing AE6.02. Question: Spec section 09 06 00 lists SECTION 10 13 00 / 10 14 00, INTERIOR SIGNS but this spec section is missing from the spec book. If there is any work of new signage then please provide a proper signage schedule. VA/AE Response: Signage shall be according to VA standards. All rooms shall receive a sign. Final room numbers and names shall be coordinated during shop drawings. Please refer to VA signage standards https://www.cfm.va.gov/til/dManual/dmSignage.pdf. The contractor will be responsible for complying to those standards when submitting signage shop drawings, any deviations will not be accepted, contractors must bid accordingly. Question: Spec section 09 06 00 lists DIVISION 12- FURNISHINGS & SECTION 12 31 00, METAL CASEWORK indicating work of Lockers, Cabinets and Counters. All this Div 12 is missing from the spec book. AE/VA Response: Metal Casework, including cabinets and counters, but not lockers are indicated on drawing AS1.04 with a basis of design. There are no lockers in this project. Question: Drawing PD0.01 demo sheet notes 1 and 2 states to remove existing sanitary piping below grade (unexcavated area) what is the depth of this existing sanitary piping which we assumed is buried in the soil and will probably need excavation. Also please con rm all the dotted line dark and regular is to be considered from removal. It s not clear, See below snap shot. VA/AE Response: The dark dashed line is removal up to the point of termination as shown in the drawings. Contractor must bid accordingly. Question: Drawing PD1.01 indicates only demolition work of existing medical gas piping. Please con rm there is no new work of medical gas piping or accessories. VA/AE Response: All new work is shown on the plans. Question: Demo drawings states to remove quarry oor le, other various oors and states existing oor shall be leveled. Please con rm if a self-leveling product like Ardex K-15 is required for oor leveling? and what should be the thickness? Please clarify as this is an expensive application and may be required before application of the new epoxy resin RES-3 ooring. VA Response: The depth of the quarry tile floor is estimated to be up to 2 . The leveling is intended to make the floor level with adjacent subflooring and make a smooth finish that meets the standard of the epoxy floor manufacturer. We will not comment on specific suitable products, however leveling compounds must be compatible with finish flooring manufacturer requirements. To confirm, complete floor preparation including a self-leveling compound is required by the contractor. Question: Solicitation page 14 of 85 Project Management paragraph states The Project Manager shall be the on-site representative of the Contractor and shall oversee all aspects of day-to-day project operations and shall serve as the Contractor s primary point of contact, including the ability to meet with the Contracting o cer. --- Please con rm if contractor s project manager is required full time on site or part time? VA Response: A full-time dedicated site superintendent is required to be on site when any work is being performed. The project manager is required to be onsite part-time, to ensure quality control of construction work, and to attend necessary meetings and weekly inspections. Question: Drawing AD1.01 indicates to remove the existing concrete slab, please specify the thickness of this slab and con rm this existing slab is on the grade. VA/AE Response: In the areas where concrete is indicated to be removed the slab is on grade. The slab is 5 thick, however it does haunch to 8 thick near foundation walls. All contractors must assume a concrete slab of 6-8 inches for bidding purposes. Question: Drawing AS1.02 shows wall type P6, but we are unable to nd this wall type on oor plan. VA/AE Response: Partition type P6 is not used. Question: All the new walls shown on drawing AS1.02 goes up to the deck. Please inform what is the oor to deck height of the ground oor. VA/AE Response: The floor to deck height of the ground floor is approximately 12 . Question: Drawing AS1.01 has number 1 in a circle see below snap shot of drawing, please clarify what does the number 1 denotes? VA/AE Response: The symbol in question denotes the required hour rating for rated walls. In the instance in the drawing snip included in the RFI would denote a 1 hour rated wall assembly. Question: There are drawings for the work of structural steel but no spec sections are provided for the metal deck and related steel work. There are no written specifications for structural steel. VA/AE Response: There are no written specifications for structural steel. The requirements for steel and metal deck are listed in the notes of drawing S1.01. Question: Drawing AS1.04 has description and basis of design for Monitor Arm . Is this monitor arm to be provided and installed by the contractor? VA/AE Response: The monitor arm and installation shall be by the contractor. Question: Drawing AS1.04 indicates WG/wall guards and CG/corner guards. Please provide details like size/dimensions, elevation and enlarged details for these WG and CG. VA/ AE Response: Thickness, size, and height for the wall and guards are listed in the wall and corner guard details on drawing AS1.04. Question: Drawing AS1.04 Security Camera note states contractor to furnish and install new Motorola Avigilon dome cameras in outside of the doors 29, 43 and 48. What about the interior security cameras marked as SC on the legend and shown on the plan? Are these to be provided by contractor as well? VA/AE Response: All cameras, including interior cameras shall be provided by the contractor. Question: Drawing AE6.02 room no. 034 is missing on the room nish schedule. VA/AE Response: Room 034 shall match all of the finishes of Room 035. Question: Please provide the Crossville ceramic tiles item number which is missing in spec sec 09 06 00. VA/AE Response: The tile basis of design is Crossville, Color Blox 2.0 porcelain, unpolished with cross sheen mosaic tiles. Provide matching trim tiles with bullnose finish at top of wainscotting and cove base at the bottom. Question: Mechanical drawings indicate Access doors and panels and concrete pad for the oor mounted expansion tank. None of these could be found on the oor plans, please identify access door/panel and concrete pad on the oor plan. VA/AE Response: Access doors shown on detail plans are for ductwork and are to be installed at all locations as specified in spec section 23-31 paragraph 2.3. Question: Mech drawing MH6.01 louver schedule states to install louver in the exterior wall above loading dock. Please specify what is the nish of the exterior wall? Are there metal panels? Does the jambs and sill have to match the exterior wall nish? VA/AE Response: The exterior wall finish (façade) is a precast concrete panel. The specified louver is aluminum, provide a AAMA 2605 compliant coatings (70% Kynar PVDF/ 100% Fluoropolymer FEVE) with all available manufacture colors. Color will be selected in submittal. Include aluminum break metal trim / flashing that matches the finish of the louver to trim around the opening. Question: Drawing PL1.01 sanitary new work sheet notes nos. 4, 5, 7 and 9 are not shown on the plan. VA/AE Response: If tag is not on plans, then there is no work associated with that note. Question: Drawing PL6.01 demolition riser diagram shows M-2, C-3, but these are not shown the plumbing demo plan. VA/AE Response: The plumbing demo plan identifies the type of fixture to be removed. Question: Drawing PL6.02 domestic water riser diagram for new work shows triple sinks, ultrasonic cleaner, RO water generator, water disinfectors, endoscope processing, sink, shower, tee probe disinfector. Are these new units? And is it contractors responsibility to furnish and install or is it VA responsibility to furnish and install? Also, all these units are not shown on the plumbing plan. Please clarify. VA/AE Response: These are all existing fixtures served by the same domestic system. Only new fixtures are P-1, P-2 and P-3 as shown and scheduled on the plans. Question: Please specify if the interstitial oor decking has one layer or two layers of decking? As this decking needs to be sawcut and removed for installation of mechanical devices. VA/AE Response: The existing interstitial floor system consists of 6 long span deck that spans from main truss to main truss with a plywood walking surface attached to the top of the deck. See Sections S1 and S2 on sheet S1.01. The metal deck and plywood are to be removed full span from truss to truss as required to hoist the new HVAC equipment into the interstitial space. The metal deck and plywood are to be replaced after the HVAC equipment is installed with matching metal deck type and gauge and matching fire retardant treated plywood thickness. Attach new fire retardant treated plywood to the metal deck with #10 TEK screws on a grid of 24 x24 .  Question: Drawing FP1.01 sheet note no.4 states contractor to provide extra high temperature sprinkler head. But this note 4 is not shown on the new work plan. VA/AE Response: High temperature heads shall be installed were required by NFPA-13. Question: Drawing AE6.01, door schedule door #37 is assigned the hardware set #HW-3E. However, this hardware set is speci ed for a single door. Please advise on which hardware set should be used for this opening? VA/AE Response: Door No. 37 shall be hardware set HW-11. Question: Please advise on hardware set #SH-9. It currently does not match an automatic opener set. As an alternative, we can provide the following: 6 Hinges 1 Maglock 2 Auto openers 1 Motion sensor Wall actuators 1 Astragal 2 Closers 2 Armor plates 2 Floor stops 1 Set of adhesive seals VA/AE Response: Alternatives to what was specified are acceptable. Hardware and locks must be coordinated and compatible with the card readers and push buttons. Contractor is responsible for all wiring. Question: Solicitation and Amendment no. 0001 states project name as Renovate SPD Phase IV, whereas specs and drawing states project name as Supply Chain Management (SCM) Total Supply Support TSS Renovation. Please clarify the correct name of the project. VA Response: Renovate SPD Phase IV is the original and official title of the project. The Supply Chain Management SCM-Total Support TSS Renovation is the same project. The name was changed for the design, as the SPD area is now called SCM and TSS respectively. SOW Clarification on Stonhard flooring for required for project: Where the construction documents call for a Stonhard flooring, contractor shall provide the following specific Stonhard flooring in lieu of what is described in solicitation drawings and/or SOW, due to durability of product and to match existing areas. Product Specification and data sheets are provided with this amendment as attachments. Contractors must provide this specific Stonhard flooring in their bids. The required Stonhard flooring will be a high-performance mortar system, paired with a pigmented topcoat and scratch resistant clear sealer. The exact products are as follows and included as attachments to this amendment: The products are as follows: Stonclad GS - mortar Stonkote HT4 - top coat Sk6 - Scratch resistant sealer.Â
