Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Individuals and families (households) People who will benefit directly from the educational outreach. The highest priority market segments are low income households, individuals with special mobility needs, and seniors. Additional market segments include unemployed or underemployed persons, households with multiple vehicles, households with young children, youth/teens, college students, individuals with "green" interests, commuters and the general public. Service Objectives: 1. Increase knowledge of mobility choices including active transportation (biking & walking) 2. Provide information on local options and have tools for comparison shopping' 3. Increase ability to make informed choices: identify goals and decision-making steps/problem-solving 4. Work with individuals to develop individual transportation plans a. Identify supports/resources to address challenges b. Communicate accomplishments/successes 2. Community organizations/agencies & employers - Organizations & employers can assist in (a) providing education to their clients and employees, and (b) creating environments within their organizations & businesses that support individuals in changing transportation behaviors. Examples of community organizations and employers include: health and human service agencies, youth workers, senior citizen groups, major employers (HR staff), schools, colleges (TC3, IC, CU, & School Success Coalition), environmental groups, sustainability advocacy groups (e.g., City Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Council (BPAC), Sustainable Tompkins) Service Objectives 1. Increase capacity to convey information/tools to staff who can extend educational outreach to clients or employees a. Assist households with consumer education, transportation options information, and planning skills b. Provide referral and technical assistance support 2.
