The City of Batavia is seeking bids to purchase potable water meters on contract. The size and quantity of the meters will be listed on the bid sheet and are based on current use, which may vary by 15% plus or minus. The existing City of Batavia automated metering systems include Neptune Automated Meter Reading (AMR) and Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) fixed network systems. If utilizing the remainder meter replacement list, all meters must be compatible with Neptune AMR systems. Manual/visual meter readings and electronic/transmitted meter readings must match with no discrepancies. All Meter up to less than 3” shall be of an absolute encoder register type with a Neptune R900I ECoder providing two-way communications of advanced metering data, and work for walk-by or mobile network reading. 3” and up meters utilize a stand alone RF-R900 or a Cellular R900 external communication. Bidders must bid on each item listed, no partial bids will be considered. All meters must be new meters, no used or refurbished meters will be accepted. All meters and parts must meet no lead requirements, as described in the amendment to the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act. For the possibility of moving away from Neptune, bidder must have an AMI software. City would need a list of meters and their software. The bidding would require two portable drive by readers and or base station reading availability. The bid would require replacement or retrofitting of all current meters. Adaptation or changing time of current radio read meters would be a factor in cost calculations for bid submittal award. Software compatible with the city’s current billing system would be required. Delivery of Meters: Delivery can be in phases with starting date 4 – 12 weeks after council approval. Additional meters must be delivered in a time frame that allows for continued meter installation throughout the City of Batavia. Anticipate replacement schedule of a minimum of 40 meters a week.
