New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) is accepting bids for Contractors to continue chemical treatment of hemlock trees using dinotefuran and imidacloprid, via both basal bark spray and trunk injection. Hemlock trees are an important component of many forests in New York and are currently threatened and declining due to infestation by the invasive Hemlock Woolly Adelgid. OPRHP has been treating hemlock trees in parks across the state since 2011, using both chemical and biological controls. The nature of this highly specialized work, often in challenging terrain and with difficult access to the project site, requires a unique skill set and experience level in the arborist/tree care industry. Some Lots will also include work areas that require rappelling via ropes to safely access trees, and additional experience and requirements are necessary for those Lots.
