The plows offered must be the manufacture’s current model and conform to the following specifications. Prototype or experimental must have been sold in substantial quantities for a minimum of two (2) years prior to the bid opening date. Complete descriptive literature must be returned with bid. MOLDBOARD: The plow shall consist of (4) independent moldboard sections, independently spring loaded to the ground enabling the plow to negotiate varying ground obstacles by guiding the individual moldboard sections upward without tilting forward. Design shall be such that the shock of impact is absorbed by the individual section and the blade section only. The shock of the moldboard raising shall be absorbed by two “Vulcolan” shock absorber bumpers mounted to the central frame behind each moldboard section. After clearing the obstacle, the cutting edge shall immediately move back into clearing position, and the affected section shall be pushed against the surface of the roadway.
