The duties of the Medical Group shall include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. To conduct physical examinations on students in grades UPK, K, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, and students without health appraisals from their New York State licensed Health Care Practitioner. 2. To conduct such special examinations as may be indicated after referrals by the classroom teacher or school nurse. 3. To conduct such special examinations as may be required for special class placement or exclusion of the physically or mentally impaired. 4. To conduct physical examinations annually for students in grades 7-12 participating in interscholastic sports. 5. To examine athletes after injury and/or severe illness to determine fitness for further competition when requested. 6. To oversee the district’s concussion management program. 7. To assist the athletic department with Mixed Competition and Athletic Placement Process (APP), previously known as Selection Classification for participation in interscholastic sports under Commissioner’s Regulation §135.4. 8. To provide oversight of the athletic trainer program and emergency sideline management for interscholastic sports. 9. To conduct physical examinations for students for employment certificates and work permits. 10.
