Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) seeks qualified Contractors to submit proposals that meet the minimum acceptable criteria set forth herein for a maintenance contract for Snowplowing Services for six (6) designated NFTA locations. The scope of work for this procurement includes snowplowing, snow removal, and surface salting services starting with the 2023 - 2024 winter season. For purposes of this agreement, the winter season begins November 1 and ends on April 15, for each year of the contract. Road salt will be provided by the NFTA; however, the Contractor(s) will be responsible for notifying NFTA when more salt is needed. Included in the scope of work is all labor, tools, material equipment, insurance, and supervision necessary to complete the project as outlined herein. Contractors may submit proposals for all locations or in part by selecting either Cheektowaga, NY locations or Athol Springs, NY. Snowplowing: Snow shall be plowed on roadways and driveways when levels reach two (2) inches or when requested by the NFTA. Snow stacking and snow consolidation will be required on an as needed basis, as determined by NFTA to maximum parking space. Sidewalks and doorways must be kept clear from snow accumulating over 1” maximum. Loading docks, doorways, sidewalks, and overhead doors must be free of snow and ice. Salting: After a site is plowed, salt must be applied to sidewalks, parking lots and roadways, with a salt spreader in a light, even layer whenever slippery conditions exist or when requested by NFTA. This includes loading docks, doorways, sideways, sidewalks and overhead doors must be free of snow and ice. Additional salting may be necessary, on an as needed basis, as determined by NFTA.
