Specifications include, but are not limited to: The following is a listing of services of requirements for snow removal from July 1, 2023- June 2024. Snow removal and/or salting shall be performed at the following locations: 1) Bus Facility (adjacent to HS) - all parking lots and driveways. 2) Somers High School - all parking lots and driveways. (Including Wastewater Treatment Plant lot) 3) Primrose Elementary School - all parking lots and driveways. In addition, the blacktop area located behind the Primrose gym shall be slated for salting only. 4) Somers Middle School- all parking lots and driveways. 5) Somers Intermediate School- all parking lots and driveways. The contractor will provide the following services and meet the following requirements: The contractor must be reachable by telephone during all periods of forecasted inclement weather. The contractor must furnish the Director of Facilities with a list of phone numbers where he/she may always be reached. All interested contractors must be able to furnish the following apparatus. Back- ups will be required to be on ready stand-by where indicated: A) Four trucks equipped with snowplows are to be provided for cleanup. Two (2) trucks are to be sent to each campus with an additional snowplow available in the event one fails. B) At least one (1) rubber-tired pay loader with a bucket size no smaller than 3 cubic yards. A second pay loader on ready stand-by. C) All parking lots are to have reflector sticks placed around parking lot perimeters to prevent curb damage by contractor. D) The district reserves the right to inspect the apparatus prior to the snow plowing/salting season. The Director of Facilities or his designee will authorize the contractor to either plow and/or salt the district’s driveways and parking lot.
