Specifications include, but are not limited to:The MORIC represents the common interests of 50 central and northern New York school districts and 4 BOCES in achieving robust, high capacity, next generation telecommunications services. One of the major goals of the MORIC is to facilitate and coordinate the development, deployment and operation of a set of seamless and robust inter-district communications services capable of supporting advanced administrative and instructional applications. The Madison-Oneida Board of Cooperative Educational Services is a legal contracting entity that will act on behalf of the MORIC. The Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES is a separate legal contracting entity acting on behalf of districts it serves. The bid will be awarded by individual contracting billed entities, resulting in separate contracts and billing. The MORIC on behalf of all component districts within the Jefferson-Lewis, Herkimer-FultonMontgomery, Madison-Oneida, and Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES has established a common vision to guide its approach to planning and developing inter-district communications services. The vision includes the following principle elements: • Implement a regional network that will provide: o A cohesive, unified regional telecommunications system o Economies of scale realized through central purchasing of network connectivity o Common Standards o Common network management and control • Provide a network infrastructure that complements the robust computer environment at the MORIC Data Center, the Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES Data center, and the infrastructure of the 50 school districts and 4 BOCES that service is provided to; • Provide a network infrastructure that is secure, available, reliable, and maintainable; • Provide a network infrastructure that is scaleable and cost effective
