The required services include, but are not limited to: scoping; all preliminary design activities (Phases I-IV); final design (Phases V-VI), for bridge replacement, bridge rehabilitation, highway reconstruction, and highway rehabilitation projects; public involvement; design survey and mapping; right-of-way survey and mapping; environmental assessments and studies; in-depth bridge inspection; constructability review; routine traffic analysis, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) design; multi-sign assignments (i.e. design of traffic signals, sign design, asset location and condition surveys, etc.); hazardous waste materials screening and assessment; asbestos investigations, sampling, testing and specifications, design for other Department facilities; construction support services (including CADD support). There is also a desire is to have a flexible engineering resource option to complete data gathering, analysis and quickly developed recommendations of countermeasures to address critical safety issues.
