Specifications include, but are not limited to: By Law, the Commissioner of the Monroe County Division of Human Services (“MCDHS”) is required to act as the Guardian of Last Resort, when ordered by Court, for vulnerable adults unable to care for themselves effectively and safely and/or their financial responsibilities. At times, such individuals have property the Commissioner is required to appraise and liquidate to support the needs of the adult under Guardianship. It is possible property could be located outside of Monroe County and New York State. MCDHS is also responsible for the upkeep of any property until it has been sold. Monroe County is seeking to contract with a property management company in the community to provide basic upkeep and repairs to such properties until they are sold. Services should include lawn/garden maintenance, snow plowing, basic upkeep, and repairs, etc. As Guardians, Monroe County is also responsible for the security of the property and anything inside until it’s sold. Responding vendors should also be able to change locks and provide keys to Monroe County and/or our contracted Realtor as needed.
