Applicants may propose to serve cohorts of youth across the program year, and/or propose to serve one consistent group of students for the duration of a school year. Examples: • There is a six-week program that can serve up to 10 youth at a time, and there will be seven cohorts of 10 youth over the course of the year. There are 70 youth proposed to be served. • There is a program that runs year-round and has drop-in space for up to 30 youth at a time to work on homework, create art, and connect with positive peers and adults. The program anticipates that 130 youth are likely to use the program over the course of the year. There are 130 youth proposed to be served. NYS BOOST is intended to achieve the following outcomes: 1. Participants will have improved academic outcomes, including attendance, participation, comprehension, and/or grades. 2. Participants will have a greater vision of their career/vocational opportunities and aspirations. 3. Participants will improve their skills in the following Social Emotional Learning (SEL) domains: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. 4. Participating youth and their families will build stronger connections to one another, the school, and the greater community.
